Classification of thermostats

The thermostat is also called the temperature control switch, which is a kind of switch commonly used in our life. According to the manufacturing principle, the thermostats can generally be divided into four types: snap thermostat, liquid expansion thermostat, pressure thermostat and digital thermostat.

1. Snap Thermostat

Various models of snap thermostats are collectively referred to as KSD, such as KSD301, KSD302 etc. This thermostat is a new type of bimetallic thermostat. It is mainly used as a series connection with the thermal fuse when various electric heating products which have overheating protection. The snap thermostat is used as the primary protection.

2. Liquid Expansion Thermostat

It is a physical phenomenon (volume change) that when the temperature of the controlled object changes, the material (usually liquid) in the temperature sensing part of the thermostat will produce corresponding thermal expansion and cold contraction, and the capsule connected with the temperature sensing part will expand or contract. The liquid expansion thermostat is mainly used in the household appliance industry, electric heating equipment, refrigeration industry and other temperature control fields.

3.Pressure Type Thermostat

This kind thermostat converts the change of controlled temperature into the change of space pressure or volume through the closed temperature bag and capillary filled with temperature sensing working medium. When the temperature setting value is reached, the contact is automatically closed through the elastic element and quick instantaneous mechanism to achieve the purpose of automatic temperature control.

4. Digital Thermostat

The digital thermostat is measured by means of resistance temperature sensing. Generally, platinum wire, copper wire, tungsten wire and thermistor are used as temperature measuring resistors. Each of these resistors has its own advantages. Most household air conditioners use thermistor type.
